The Rooms

The 20th century Thornham Hall reflects its Tudor, Georgian and Victorian predecessors, with its open fires, spacious rooms and fine porcelain and portraits. The surrounding stables, by Lamb and the statuesque water tower add to the atmosphere. Thornham Hall is set in magnificent parkland and formal gardens at the heart of the Thornham Estate where Lesley’s late philanthropic father-in-law, Lord Henniker, opened 10 miles of walks and rides to the public.

Having lived abroad most of her unconventional life, Lesley has filled the Hall with many exotic trinkets and pictures.

Thornham Hall has always been famous for house parties, ever since the Prince Regent and Lily Langtree stayed here in the last century. Lesley is happy to continue the tradition and now welcomes guests to come with their friends and take full advantage of the delights Thornham Hall has to offer. Weekend house parties are a speciality and Lesley will happily provide a sumptious dinner for the party. Lesley loves English country food and creates delicious traditional dishes with modern flair and a bit of a twist. Lesley’s fine country house cooking is often influenced by foreign flavours, and her seasonal game dishes have become renown.
